Description

volatileThe rooms of the Paolucci Museum house some of the speciemens from the collections of a renowned scholar and naturalist who was born in Ancona. Luigi Paolucci (1849-1935) left us palaeontological, mineralogical, zoological and botanical collections, the results of a lifetime of research and study. Viewing the specimens, visitors make contact with and come to understand the diversity and specific nature of the natural environments of the Marches.

The collection

volatileThere are seven rooms to visit: the setting of Prof. Paolucci's study, the lecture room, and rooms devoted to the environments of the rivers, the coast, the hills, the caves, and the mountains. Theaching panels and exhibition of the materials provide an overview of nature in the Marches; unique specimens of species that have now disappeared are precious evidence for the reconstruction and understanding of the evolution and modifications of this territory.
